The Police, the Prosecution, and Plea Negotiation Rates: An Exploratory LookDepartment of Political Science and Criminal Justice, University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL 36688 Plea negotiation has become a dominant mode of case disposition in the criminal justice system. However, the quantitative impact of the police on this process has yet to be fully understood.
